ENG
Jovanni Mendoza is a cinematographer who graduated from the Department of Image and Sound at the University of Guadalajara, where he earned a Bachelor of Audiovisual Arts. Since 2019, he has dedicated himself exclusively to photography direction, focusing particularly on fiction and documentary projects.
His training has been enriched by specialized workshops such as "Cinema Lighting Experience: From Film to Digital," taught by Alejandro Mejía of the AMC (National Cinematography Institute), and "How to Make a Film from Start to Finish from the Eye of a Director of Photography," coordinated by 11 cinematographers from the AMC (National Cinematography Institute), which have allowed him to consolidate his technical and artistic vision.
Originally from the city of Oaxaca, Jovanni cultivates a vision deeply influenced by his family history. He grew up surrounded by textiles, colors, and shapes, inherited from a traditional artisanal background that taught him from a young age to carefully observe light and details. This sensitivity is reflected in his work as a cinematographer, where light—natural or constructed—becomes a tool capable of bringing spaces to life and subtly revealing the emotional dimension of characters.
